Enjoying warm weather.

January 5, 2016

Wow—it seems that we got out of Maryland at a good time. We hear that the temperatures at home are much lower that we had during the month of December.

I have experienced some stomach issues so I just cooled it in the condo yesterday while Cordell took a walk through the neighborhood. It sure is a beautiful place to spend some time.

Cordell saw some workmen removing a palm tree from someone’s yard.

A large turtle visited right outside our lanai. Cordell watched it and saw it go into a nearby hole. We wonder if there are any eggs in that hole.

Every afternoon is a good time for a nap.

Today, we crossed the bridge to Cape Coral to look for a special geocache that Cordell had on his list. It was located in Rotary Park and required a .1 mile hike which began on a boardwalk and ended on a sandy trail.

This trail is quite different from the ones we usually hike nearer home.

We saw several interesting things in this park. There was a little free library. I have seen similar ones in other places and really like this concept.

This picnic table was painted aqua, purple and yellow.

A child’s swing had designs painted on it.

I liked this rock which indicated “Pathway to Peacefulness”.

And here is another rock which indicates “Donna’s Reflection Garden”.

Back in the Fort Myers area, we saw some pretty green palms.

  1. We have actually been very blessed so far this winter. We have only had two bitterly cold days since you left! Surely that won't last... although when I took our Christmas decorations down, I left Frost standing outside. I figure he really isn't a Christmas decoration - he is a WINTER decoration... and Tyler likes him. I will leave him until we get one good snow. (Dennis says that MIGHT be next winter!) That would suit ME just fine!!! It is nice to see all your greenery though!
